Building Engineers and Scientists Through Tennis (B.E.S.T.T.) is optimal training mix of a Coalition Community Tennis association, Kemetic Yoga, Tai Chi and Multimedia for at-risk youth. Our goal is to produce students that will excel in both tennis and multimedia. BESTT will benefit from our established National Junior Tennis leagues in Los Angeles County and Atlanta, Ga. BESTT will establish revenue streams by membership drives, sanctioned USTA Tournaments, fundraisers and diligent request for proposals in the first year. BESTT has form a partnership with Say No Classic Basketball League a 501 C3. Say No Classic is celebrating their 26th year and in that span they have showcased over 600 division 1 NCAA and 25 professional basketball players. This partnership will allow BESTT to offer tax exemptions to public and private sponsors.
The Company’s Mission Statement
The mission of BESTT is to provide the optimal matrix of tennis and multimedia
training for “at-risk” yout in the Los Angeles basin. Upon completion of the
course students will have exposure to and an opportunity to develop fundamental/high
performance tennis and multimedia skills. Upon completion of the course all
students will have shot, edited and produced they’re own DVD highlighting their
tennis progress and career goals.
BESTT is also dedicated to extending its established relationship with the USTA for the following purposes: 1) Host multiple USTA sanctioned tennis tournaments. 2) Recruit students through USA 123 and NJTL programs in public schools. 3) Develop USA/Team tennis leagues, and 4) Capitalize on grants for tennis and education designed specifically for at-risk youth in Los Angeles Basin. BESTT is organized to create a “quasi” tennis farm club of well-educated student/players who can compete in tennis while being proficient in multimedia skills. This program is will help develop substantial talents useful on both an educational and professional level.

Building Engineers and Scientists for Tomorrow (BEST) was formed in 1991 in
Detroit, Michigan by Greg Gice and Henry "Mustafa" Prestwood. Mr.
Gice’s expertise as a community leader and the organization’s reputable non-profit
status made it easy to secure cash and capital grants from local corporations.
Unisys Corporation awarded BEST with 100 computers and a cash grant. Mr. Prestwood
wrote course syllabus to teach students Word Perfect 4.2, Lotus 123 DBase III+,
both then state-of-the-art programs. Mr. Prestwood also thought beginning basketball.
St. Martin DePorres High School was the first training site for the initial
25 students enrolled in the eight-week dual computer and basketball program.
John Sally, of the World Champion Detroit Pistons was a very important supported
our efforts and generously donated his mansion for our first graduation.

In 1995 Mr. Prestwood was formally introduced to tennis and for the last 10
years has dedicated himself to teaching National Junior Tennis programs to high-risk
youth. BESTT, consequently, is a natural successor to BEST and emulates its
basis premise upgraded by a new emphasis on tennis and multimedia skills.
